William John Mullett
December 19, 1934 – May 19, 2023
With great sadness we announce the passing of our Dad on May 19, 2023, in his 89th year. Beloved husband of Maureen Shirley Mullett (deceased February 2022). Cherished and devoted father of Bill (Helen), Lance (Shelley) and Brenda (Robert). Proud and adored Pop to Alex (Erin), Tamara (Zach), Tyler (Julie), Melissa (Andrew), Kaitlyn (Jesse), Adam (Kylie), Aric and Sarena. Loving Great-Grandfather to Alexander (AJ), Elizabeth, Madeline, Thomas, and Paisley.
Firm but fair Dad was always there to lend a hand when we needed it. A Certified Engineering Technician, Dad also held Certificates of Qualification in five different trades. A fixture in the Town of Markham for many years owning and operating C. Mullett & Son Plumbing, Heating & Sheet Metal Work. Towards the end of his career, he transitioned to a Building and Mechanical Inspector for the Town of Markham. In retirement Dad could often be found in his shop at the back of 3 Grandview Blvd. making so many different things for his family and friends. His talent was both remarkable and endless. Our Christmas trees are still adorned with the many ornaments he fashioned and many of us are blessed to have received priceless gifts of furniture and crafts he created. Towards the end of his life, he sorely missed the love of his life, our Mom, to whom he was married to for over 63 years.
Friends and family will be welcomed for the visitation at the Dixon-Garland Funeral Home, 166 Main Street, Markham, on Wednesday May 24th from 5pm - 7pm with a Funeral Service beginning at 7pm and a reception to follow.
Our family would like to extend a thank you to the staff at Douglas Crossing in Uxbridge for all the care and understanding they provided to our father. Also, a special thank you to Dr. Deepti Pasricha who was there for our Dad in his hour of need and is the utmost professional in the medical field.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
