Obituary of Jack Robertson
Jack Edward Robertson
November 21, 1947- May 9, 2023
Predeceased by his parents Eljo (1986) and Grover (1998), Jack is survived by his brother David (Dianne), his nieces and nephews Jodie (Justin), Shannon, Michael (Kristina), six great nieces and nephews, and his beloved cousin Juanita.
A self-described night owl, Jack passed away at Markham Stouffville Hospital in the wee hours of May 9 th after a year-long battle with cancer.
Jack had a fifty plus year career with Cross-Canada Car Leasing and was an active member of the United Church Community at Knox United and later, Wexford Heights United Church.
Jack was extremely well traveled visiting countries all over the world with various church groups, but his favourite memories were of road trips with his parents to visit family in Iowa and Georgia.
Jack loved his family, his faith, the Blue Jays, a good steak dinner, and a well-timed fart joke. He disliked traffic, the Yankees, using his inside voice, being punctual, and music recorded after1962.
Jack was a character, as evidenced by his extensive collection of Tim Hortons, Waffle House, and Dunkin Donuts coffee cups. But he was our character, and we loved him.
Special thanks to Kris, Merlina, Sandra and Danielle and everyone else from Welcome Home Care, as well as the staff at Bloom Stouffville, and all of the doctors and nurses who helped care for Jack in his final months.
A private service and interment will be held in Loganville, Georgia at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
