Sydney Trood

Marcy 7, 1930 – April 12, 2023

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Sydney Trood at his home residence in Markham, Ontario at the age of 93. Those left to mourn his loss are his loving wife, Patricia, of 70 years and his only son Kevin who lives in British Columbia.  He leaves this world to join his parents; Sydney and Ivy Trood.

Sydney was born in London, England and moved to Canada in 1956. He moved to Markham in 1972 where he carried out most of his working life in the electrical industry, eventually retiring when he was 63. Sydney loved being active; enjoyed swimming and went ballroom dancing weekly. He had a real sweat tooth and loved desserts, never saying no to a bowl of ice-cream or anything chocolate. Syd will always be remembered for having a big smile on his face for anyone that came to visit, including those furry companions we call family.  

During their 70 years of marriage, Patricia and Sydney went on thirteen cruises, which does not include his trips to Ashbridge’s Bay on his own sail boat! Syd will be missed by the many PSW that attended to him over the past couple of years and his neighbours on the street. As per Sydney’s wishes he has been cremated.
