I first met Lila in Calgary when she came to visit her best friend Norma ( my mother in law). A few years later when I moved to Ontario, she took me under her her wing, and she took care of me and welcomed us all into her large extended family. Lila was then when we married, gave birth and grew as a family. She gave me help and guidance as a new wife and mother and when my own mother passed when I was 23, Lila became my surrogate mom. She was always there with love and support for myself and Ian, and our growing family, with unconditional love and support. She was a mentor, a teacher, a supporter and someone I aspired to be like as she was a gentle, loving, giving and kind hearted person. Lila could make anyone feel special and important.

We will all miss her dearly as she has made such a huge impact on our lives.
