Obituary of Alessandro Dell'Aera

Forever Loved, Never Forgotten...

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Alessandro (Alex) Dell’Aera, on January 24, 2023. Alex leaves behind his beloved wife of 47 years, Kathy. He was a devoted father to his daughter Lisa and son-in-law Darryl, and was the very proud nonno to his grandson, Garrett.

Alex is survived by his sister, Anna, and brother, Raffaele, and by many relatives and friends in Italy who he loved dearly. He is also survived by his nieces Rosa, Chiara, and Anna, and their families in Canada, to whom he was affectionately known as “Uncle Al”.

Alex was a treasured and deeply loved husband, father, nonno, brother, uncle, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Trillium Health Partners - Mississauga Hospital for all their care and compassion in his final days. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Trillium Health Partners or Parkinson Canada.

Visitation will take place on Friday, January 27 from 5pm-9pm at Dixon-Garland Funeral home (166 Main Street N, Markham). The ceremony will be held on Saturday, January 28 at 10am at Dixon-Garland Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Christ the King Cemetery (7770 Steeles Avenue E, Markham). Family and friends are invited to stay at Christ the King for a reception immediately afterwards.
