Jennifer Cook-Spanton
1/04/1940 - 12/27/2022
Passed away peacefully at home, loving wife of the late Thomas S. Spanton who she missed so very much the past 2 years. Loving step-mother to Susan Cook (John Smart), Marlene Cook, Elizabeth Birdsall, Thomas Spanton (Daisy), David Spanton (Barb), Laura Davies (Mike), and Michael Spanton(Robyn).
Amazing sister to Brenda, Margaret, and Susan, and sister-in-law to Charles (Lil), Margaret, and Stephen (Betty). She will be missed by her grandchildren, Kerry, Caitlin, Jessica, Stephanie, Neil, Matthew, Braeden, Nicholas, Allison, Kevin, and Charls. Jen was very involved with her nieces, nephews, great grandchildren, and great nieces and nephews. She will be especially missed by her niece Kate and family. Jen was predeceased by her step-son Michael Cook, granddaughter Jana Cook, grandson Eric Michael Burton, son-in-law Paul Birdsall, her parents John and Ethel Cole, brother Jack and sister Nancy. Jen will be missed by her Gyro family which she was a part of for so many years and she loved dearly.
Jen’s greatest joy just like her husband Tom was playing cards which is where they met. Always ready for a game of Wizard, Euchre, Bid Euchre, or cribbage, whatever game you knew she would play. It was not uncommon to find her playing cards at the dining room table with kids, grandkids, and great grandkids during family visits. Those times will be missed by all. Jen and Tom loved cruising and passed that bug along, they were always ready to go whenever they were invited along with other family members.
According to Jen’s wishes there will be no service, cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
