Obituary of Melody Dawn Smith

Forever Loved, Never Forgotten ...

Melody Smith

May 25, 2001 - December 3, 2022

After a courageous battle with bone cancer, our daughter is pain free. Melody Dawn Smith, 21, of Markham, Ontario died peacefully on December 3, 2022. She came 7 weeks early and has been a fighter ever since. Born on May 25, 2001 to Daniel and Denise (Anderson) Smith.

Melody attended Reesor Park Public School and was a proud Class of 2020 graduate from Markham District High School. Melody was a big advocate for autism and the 2SLGBTQ+ community. She spoke her mind and was authentically herself. Everyone had a place with her. Melody is fondly remembered by her dad and stepmom, Daniel Smith and Melissa Spagnuolo; her mum and step dad, Denise (Anderson) Smith and Craig Cooper.

Many laughs were shared with her grandparents, Clinton and Bette (Tomlin) Smith and Lloyd (deceased) and Linda (Brown) Anderson. Her siblings will miss playing with her; Ruby Smith (deceased), Aizen Smith, Connor Spagnuolo and Aiden Spagnuolo.

A Memorial Service will occur on December 11, 2022 @ 2p.m. at Dixon Garland Funeral Home, 166 Main Street North, Markham. In lieu of flowers, please bring a pair of NEW quirky and cartoonish pairs of socks. Melody would like to donate them to other cancer patients.
