Obituary of Lucille Isabel Henderson

Lucille Isabel Henderson (nee Van Hees)

It is with the deepest sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Lucille Henderson on Friday November 25, 2022 at the age of 89. 

Mom was a kind caring soul who touched the hearts of many, predeceased by her husband William of 58 years.  She will be dearly missed by her children Fred, Bob, Joanne (Lloyd), Jennifer (Joe), grandchildren Megan (Brennan), Alexandra (Ryan), Patrick (Amanda), Leanne (Michale) her siblings who referred to her as “Duce” John and Derk and will be welcomed with open arms by the late Willie, Fran, Ben, Fred, and Josanne.

Lucille had a life-long love of all sports and enjoyed playing Tennis, Softball, Bowling, Curling and was the Goalie for the 1956 Canadian National Women’s Field Hockey team recently inducted into the Field Hockey Canada Hall of Fame.  She was always down for a good game of cards or bingo even schooling the youngsters in the hospital rehab unit in Cribbage.

All are welcome to Lucille’s celebration of life from 2 to 4pm on December 1 at Dixon Garland Funeral Home 166 Main Street North, Markham Ontario L3P 1Y3.
