Obituary of Ernest Cichelly
1933-11-28 2022-10-30
It is with great sadness the family of Ernest Cichelly announces his peaceful passing after fighting the lengthy “good fight” with ill health at the age of 88. He was the beloved husband and childhood sweetheart of wife Evelyn, and loving father of daughter Vanessa Cichelly-Nastic (Constantin Nastic) and son Sam Cichelly (Connie). He will be so missed but never forgotten by his grandchildren Lexie, Cheyanne, Isabella, and Damien Cichelly, his remaining sister Ida McKillip; and so many loving family relatives and friends.
Ernie was born in the remote, wonderful northern railway town Nakina, ON. He worked faithfully as a C.N. conductor, both in Nakina and Toronto. Although shy in nature, his superb sense of humour always made us laugh. He was a good, helpful, generous family man, always a wonderful provider, loving husband and father, and a faithful friend. His interests were many, sports especially hockey, fishing, gardening, ect. He enjoyed his puzzles, history and geography and extensive world travel. He could boast riding horses, bulls, camels, elephants, ostrich and dolphins. Ernie excelled in cooking, especially barbeque, spaghetti sauces and soups. He will be sadly missed by one and all.
Visitation will be held at the DIXON-GARLAND FUNERAL HOME, 166 Main Street North, Markham Road (Markham) on Monday November 7 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral Mass will take place the following day at St. Patrick’s Parish, 5633 Highway 7, Markham ON, L3P 1B6 at 10:30am.
