Obituary of Edmond John Mees
“When tomorrow starts without me, we are not so far apart. For every time you think of me, I’m right here in your heart.”
Mees, Edmond John (Eddie)
November 22, 1925 - October 13, 2022
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our Dear Dad, Opa and Great Opa on Thursday, October 13, 2022, just one month short of his 97th birthday. Eddie is predeceased by his loving wife, Elfie. Survived by his son, Garry and wife, Donna; 4 grandsons Matthew (Tara), Eric (Martina), Brydon (Rebecca) and Jordan (Kiran), and 7 great grandchildren; Noah, Logan, Nash, Alexa, Jack, Nate, and Lily.
Eddie was trained as a Master Mechanic in Germany. He spent 40 years in the printing trade with Rockwell International. At 62, he retired and fulfilled a lifelong dream of starting his own business. EJM Offset flourished on his reputation and strong work ethic.
Later on, Eddie became involved with the Markham Lions, and enjoyed giving back to the community. Vacations in Siesta Key with Elfie, and countless hours cheering on his grandsons at hockey, baseball and volleyball games gave Eddie great pleasure. Eddie’s final years were spent at Douglas Crossing in Uxbridge. We are so thankful for the kind and loving staff on the 3rd floor who catered to all Dad’s increasing needs.
As per Edmonds wishes, he has been cremated and the family will hold a private interment at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Eddie’s memory to the Markham Lions Club. Online condolences can be made here.
