Obituary of Rev. Edward Alan Briffett

Reverend Edward Alan (Ted) Briffett passed away peacefully after vespers on Thursday September 15, 2022 in Richmond Hill, Ontario at the age of 83. He is survived by Ruth (nee Thompson) his beloved wife of 59 years, and his adored daughters Laura and Michelle. Ted was ordained into the priesthood of the Anglican Church March 4, 1970 and served his community faithfully for 52 years. His career took him from Toronto to Saskatchewan, to England and home again before retiring from fulltime ministry in 1998. Ted will be remembered for his kind hugs, an inability to resist a bad pun, and his love of the Blue Jays.

Friends are welcome at Dixon-Garland Funeral Home, 166 Markham Rd, Markham,  Tuesday September 20th 2-4pm and 7-9pm for visitation. Funeral service at Grace Church Anglican, 19 Parkway Ave, Markham (Markham Rd & Hwy 7), Wednesday September 21 at 2pm reception in the upper hall following the service. A private interment of ashes will be held after the Blue Jays win the World Series.
