Lois & Jeff - We were shocked this morning to learn of Steve's passing. He was a great guy, who will be missed by all who knew him. We had lots of good times as neighbors in Markham, boating on Georgian Bay, and going to the local theatre and restaurants.

I only worked with Steve for a few years, however I will always remember his sense of humor. What a great guy

Lois, and Jeff, sorry about this. We had a few teary-eyed conversations about your family's tragedies. Great to have dinners with you, Lois, and Steve at your place and ours! I told Steve about the Overtime Fraud going on at the M FD and how it had been covered up by the Union Executive and Management. He was my rock through that. He helped me to get beyond it. I'll always treasure him for that.

Steve was one of those quiet, unassuming guys who had this wicked dry sense of humour. We interacted with each other throughout our careers with Markham Fire. Going to Florida with Brad Carlton was better than a Las Vegas comedy show. We laughed and had the best time as the three amigos.Steve was a good Captain. He never got riled over any emergency situation. His calm demeanor and willingness to discuss strategy with the crew kept us focused on the job at hand. I haven't seen Steve for a while but I will miss him just knowing he left the scene for the last time.

Steve was my first Captain with Markham Fire. We had lots of fun and on and off the Job, I started in the fall of 1988 and quickly was included into the crew. I always remember his and Lois’s corn roast as great times up north.

Steve will be missed! Loved his sense of humor, playing cards with him and Lois, and just talking with him at his Florida resistance. Rest in peace!
