Obituary of Maria Petralito

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our mother Maria Petralito on April 19, 2022 at Markhaven Home for seniors.

Maria will be lovingly remembered by her three caring daughters, Carmela (Giovanni), Nancy (Lucio) and Rosaria (predeceased Luigi). She was blessed to have 8 grandchildren and 15 great grand children.

Maria would love to listen to the Italian classics while making cookies and pasta for her family. She would be the first to get everyone clapping at Markhaven’s live entertainment days. She will fondly be remembered shouting “Bravo, Bravo” to encourage joy and laughter.

The family cannot thank the staff at Markhaven Home for Seniors enough for adoring our mother who helped in her care. Also for treating her like a mother when we were unable to be there. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stoke Foundation, Diabetes Canada or Alzheimer Society.

Family and friends will be received at the Dixon-Garland Funeral Home on Friday April 22 from 5-9pm. Funeral mass will take place on Saturday April 23 at 10:30am at St. Patrick's Parish. Entombment to follow at Highland Memory Gardens. All are wecome at Le Parc following the entombment for a time of refreshments.
