Obituary of Bill Walker
William Fraser Walker (July 4, 1944 to February 20, 2022)
On Sunday, February 20, 2022, William Fraser Walker (Bill) passed away while in Markham Stouffville Hospital at the age of 77 after a long illness.
Bill was a well-known auctioneer throughout Canada and the US where he sold and managed sales of livestock, art, and wholesale car auctions. Bill was a good friend and mentor to many in the business. In his spare time he was an avid genealogist, Past President of Markham Agricultural Society and a member of Markham Union Masonic lodge.
He is predeceased by his father, William J. Walker and his mother, Marjorie Walker. He is survived by his brother, Bruce Walker (Deidra) of Lindsay, his nephew Bradley Walker and (Alison) of Sudbury and his niece Kelly Dayment and (Wesley) of Woodville. He will be greatly missed by his great nieces and nephews Henry, Elizabeth, William, Keira and Declan.
There will be a private family funeral with interment in Stouffville Cemetery. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Dixon-Garland Funeral Home in Markham. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Markham Stouffville Hospital would be appreciated. Donations or expressions of sympathy may be made through the Dixon-Garland Funeral Home website.
