Obituary of Muriel Hansford

Muriel Hansford (Burkholder)

Muriel passed away gently into the presence of her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, at Southlake Regional Health Centre in Newmarket on December 5, 2021, at the age of 89.

Prior to hospitalization she had been a resident at Mackenzie Place Long term Care Home in Newmarket. She was predeceased by her husband Kenneth Hansford of Woodstock in 1985. Eldest child of the late Harvey and Eva Burkholder of Markham. Eldest sibling of Helen Cressman (Kenneth deceased), Mary E. Burkholder, Arthur R. Burkholder (Doreen deceased) and Lawrence Burkholder (deceased) Lois. She was aunt to eleven and great aunt to twenty-four. Muriel contracted polio in her early teen years and experienced lingering after effects over the course of her lifetime, including paralysis in one arm, and general weakness in her extremities. She encountered many other challenges through life as well, but navigated her journey without complaint, and gave strong testimony to her faith until the very end.

Muriel will be sadly missed by her family and loyal friends.

A private family interment will take place at North Embro Cemetery just north of Woodstock.
