I met Elsa when I was 9. She was so full of spunk and I loved her. She also gave me my best friend or sister. About 20 years ago, Jeff Foxworthy came into where I was working. He was wanting a trophy for a golf tournament he and John Smoltz (former Braves pitcher) did every year. I told him my best friend's mom and he worked together at IBM years ago and he asked what her name was. I told him Elsa Lefebvre and he said “Yes, she had the big red hair!” He said she and some other coworkers were always telling him he should go to an open-mic night or try stand-up because he was so funny, so eventually, he did. Of course, the rest is history. But he had a huge smile when I said her name. She was a wonderful woman. Strong. Beautiful. I love her daughter Noelle more than anyone on the planet. And she would be so, so proud of her daughter today.
Love you,
Tracie Callaway Pike
