Peacefully on Friday, October 29^th, 2021 at Markham Stouffville Hospital at the age of 91. John, beloved husband of the late Margaret for 58 years. Son of Caroline and Tom Moment. Loving brother to the late Vera Whetter (Moment) and brother-in-law John Whetter. Beloved brother-in-law of Pearl Gough and the late Edna Weir and Lenetta MacKinlay. Special Uncle to Audrey Sutherland (Rick), Carol Berridge (Ted), Wayne Gough (Karen), Donna Sherrard (Peter), Vernon Whetter (Margaret), Lynn Whetter (Loren), David MacKinlay (Chris), Lynda Pindar (Al) and Elizabeth Melito (John). Family and friends will be received at DIXON-GARLAND FUNERAL HOME, 166 Main Street North, Markham on Tuesday November 2 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday November 3, 2021 at 11:30 am in the chapel. Interment to follow at Elmwood Cemetery. John’s family would like to thank the staff at Amica of Unionville and the special staff at Markham Stouffville Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
