Years ago, I spent a week, practice teaching ,at Ballantrae Public School. Joan was a teacher there. For that week, I boarded in the same home as she did. She was a lovely, kind friendly person and ever after that she always stopped to have a visit whenever we met. My sympathy to Joan's family.

Joan Hoover was the answer to my first prayer as a brand new -- still seeking -- Christian back in 1976. I knocked on her kitchen door hoping to find a home for my little miniature schnauzer, Shannon. This was the third farm door I knocked on, ready to give up. But she and her lovely family took little Shannon in with visiting rights for us, encouraging me to keep praying and start believing that a personal God really exists and cares about even the little things in one's life. Condolences to Willis and Ken. God bless you and your family. Joan was a wonderful and caring lady. I look forward to meeting her again one day.

Miss Reesor was my grade 1 teacher and Mrs. Hoover was my grade 2 teacher at Ballantrae Public School and certainly was instrumental in getting her students off to a good start in education - a caring and wonderful lady.
