Kirk , to you and your family my most sincere condolences for your loss. I remember meeting Joan a few times recalling her to be a pleasant considerate and compassionate person. I know in the months ahead it will be difficult. You were fortunate to have had each other in your lives and from those years there are many great memories to help you deal with the absence of someone who meant so much in your life.
Hopefully time will help to heal the sorrow of today.
All the best to you and your family under the circumstances.
Regards,
Robert Nunn

Kirk, we are so sorry for the great loss to you and your family!! Joan was such a caring and happy person to be around. We are sure she will be missed by everyone who knew her. Kirk, our heart goes out to you and the kids and their spouses and children. Such a deep loss for all of you – Joan was such a vibrant, loving, caring beautiful soul. She was so proud of her kids and especially those grand babies…I have lots of baby pictures on my phone to prove it! Laura and I pray that Joan’s deep love for her family, and the Love that was Joan, continues to embrace and surround you all as you support each other through this very difficult loss.
Oh my goodness what fond memories I have over the 30+ years that Joan and I have been friends. While the last 5 or so years we didn’t get to spend too much time together, every time we did speak or see each other, it was as though no time had passed. We just picked up where we left off. I became friends with Joan when I began working at Markham Hydro in 1989 some 30+ years ago. During those years we spent many many lunch hours together having very long discussions about our lives and our work…sometimes laughing, sometimes crying. I was also lucky enough to work on many projects with Joan at the Hydro – I always knew that no detail would be forgotten when Joan was on the team! Outside of work, we did several things, including some unforgettable beach and golf time in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. A number of years back, Laura, Joan and I met weekly to play golf – we always had nice long chats afterward catching up on our lives and solving the world’s problems. After our work careers went in different directions, Joan and I would still find ways to connect either at Marble Slab or we would get together for dinner. Joan was such a good friend she joyfully helped us every year for several years in our own business at an annual conference we recorded at a hotel in down town Toronto – we had lots of laughs and fun on these weekends! I will never forget Joan travelling to Collingwood to be there for me when my Mom passed in 2018 – Joan had such a warm, loving peaceful energy about her - her being there just made me feel better. I feel sad knowing I will never be able to be in her physical presence again-it makes my heart hurt. While it is sad, I am going to hang on to all the memories of Joan that I have in my mind and heart. I know she is at peace and I believe she will continue to be supporting, guiding, and loving to Kirk, her kids and those amazing grand babies…albeit from the other side! I trust that the beautiful Soul of Joan Rainbow McCullough is at Peace and only has one wish – that we all find Peace! I love you Joan- thank you for being part of my life.
Love & Prayers, Louise & Laura
