Obituary of Jane Policelli

It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing Mary-Etta Jane Policelli on May 22, 2021. Jane passed away in her sleep, surrounded by her family, at Sunnybrook Hospital following a recent diagnosis of ALS. 

Survived by her loving husband Phil, and her daughters Karla (Sherman), and Heather (Tyler). Cherished and proud grandmother of Eojin and Wyatt. Beloved daughter of William and Magdalena Bartanus (predeceased).

Jane was born in Welland Ontario on June 28, 1949. She was raised in Etobicoke and spent summers on her grandmother's farm.  Jane and Phil met while working at Sunbeam back in the early 70s. When not spending time with family, Jane worked as an administrative assistant at various companies over her career. 

Jane loved music, curling and cycling. Jane and Phil were avid travellers, visiting all 7 continents over the years and enjoying many different adventurers including bike and barge trips, safaris, sightseeing, sailing, trekking with the gorillas, and many more. Jane was a frequent and vocal passenger in Phil's plane over the years. 

There will be a private gathering with immediate family. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date when circumstances allow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Charcot Marie Tooth Association or the Sunnybrook ALS Clinic. Online condolences can be made here.
