Dear Jaqui Doug and Micheal
Words can't express how saddened I am to hear of your loss. Margaret was a wonderful person and had a huge impact on my life.
Not only was she a terrific coach she became a mother figure to me during my competitive years. Margaret and Bruce made
Tam O Shanter an enjoyable place to train and made us all feel like family. She will be deeply missed.
My deepest sympathies are with you all.
Love Judy Williams-Hill

Chris and I have many fond memories of skating under the watchful eyes of Marg at the Tam O'Shanter arena. I well remember her assistance as she guided us through competitions. Both Marg and Bruce added so much to Canadian figure skating with their knowledge and approach to competition. Rest in Peace, Marg. You are truly missed! My heartfelt condolences to all of her family.

A wonderful lady always - my skating coach for many years. She taught me so much more than skating and I thank her for that. She also taught me that there isn’t just one way to learn something new on or off the ice - something that I used during my coaching years and with my family. Condolences to Jacqui and family.

My extreme condolences to all of the Hyland Family
Losing someone so special regardless of the age is extremely difficult to manage.
Marg and Bruce remind me of a song which was made popular by Sinatra in the 50s.
the lyrics go like this
fairy tales can come true it can happen to you when you're young at heart.
Marg and Bruce We're Young at Heart, I never looked upon them as being old, but they were outgoing personable end had time for anyone.
As far as theufairy tales are concerned they lived a life with many of their competitors who went on to become Canadian North American World and Olympic champions. they contributed so much to our sport and will be missed and remembered as a very special couple.

My condolences to the family, I was a skater at Tam O Shanter Summer Skating School back in 1969 -71 with Bruce and Marg Hyland. They were Icons in our skating world.Bezics, Souches, Shers, Debbie Wilkes and Jacquie Hyland and I were all there to achieve one goal,to be the best and with the Hyland so coaching a lot did just that. This was the start of the Canadian Golden Age of Figure Skating when Champions were emerging in numbers. It was with the expert coaching of Marg and Bruce Hyland that Canada became a force.Their legacy lives on.
