SHIPLEY, George William, P. Eng.
Passed away peacefully surrounded by family in Markham, September 4, 2020. Born March 29, 1932 in Kirkland Lake, Ontario. Loving husband of Shirley (Holdcroft) for 62 years. Proud Father of Ayn, Bill (Carole Sherman) and Diane (John Wallace). Proud Grandfather of Spencer and Jennifer Kardash. Beloved Brother of Mary Ann Jackson and Marny Bimm. Loved by many nieces, nephews and extended family. Son of MP Ann Killins and Dr. Manley Shipley. U of T Mining Engineering Graduate, 1957. George will be fondly remembered by his friends and family for his wonderful sense of humour, his love of playing cards and his constant projects working on the house, pool and family cottages. He was an avid skier and loved eating seafood. He was always helping family & friends with renovations & repairs and was a volunteer for Community & Home Assistance To Seniors. Due to restrictions, a family funeral has already taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Parkinson Canada or a charity of your choice.
