So very sorry to hear of Dorothy's passing. She was a wonderful, elegant lady yet full of fun and mischief! I will treasure the times we spent together in Florida - at the beach, at the mall or just enjoying the back patio. Dorothy leaves a legacy of love in her beautiful family; may memories of happier times comfort you all. My sincerest sympathy and love.

Dotty was one of the kindest, sweetest people we will ever know. We will remember her sweet voice and beautiful smile when she would enjoy a cup of tea with us girls. She stood for truth and kindness.
Jazmine remembers her life lessons with the girls about always doing the right thing. We were always treated like part of the family when we would visit. Our hearts are sad, but we will remember the happy times and the most beautiful smile!
Sending love and hugs to Dottys family from Jordan, Jazmine and Heather

Such sad news to hear of the passing of Dotty, our condolences go out to all the Blairs.
We had the great pleasure of spending time with Dotty a few years ago when she came to Australia to visit Deborah, Matt and their girls in their adopted home. It was so nice getting to know Dotty, and talking all things dogs, she was a true lady who called a spade a spade!!
We loved that she embraced the birdlife that frequented Deb and Matts, every time we have a visit from the many cockatoos who live in our neighbourhood we always say Dotty would love that.
RIP Dotty, fly high lovely lady.

Dorothy & I were friends from the tender age of 9 to the very end. I cannot find the words to define our friendship -it was indescribable & so rare to find in this world. Our bond was magical, strong, & full of love. There was never any place for judgement or mistrust between us, we held each other’s hearts close & protected each other with ferocity. I loved her children & she loved mine -although we never had to act on it, we even gave each other permission to slap each other’s children if they stepped out of line!!! Dorothy & I celebrated each other’s joys as if they were our own. We stood side by side when any problems or misfortunes entered our lives -together we were always stronger. When we married, our husbands Doug & Donald were welcomed into the fold
I love Dorothy dearly. A friendship so true will never pass. I’m sure we will meet again to pick up where we left off & our friendship will continue to blossom.

Today I lost one of my oldest dearest friends whom I meet when we were at our most vulnerable stage of life. My friend Dorothy was a very kind, thoughtful, generous, humorous, loving wife, mom, and nana...might I add a great story teller with a wicked sense of humour. Even though I only knew her the past 13 years we quickly bonded and I lovingly called her my adopted mom. Dorothy was a inspiration to me and a soldier. In later years as she faced many medical difficulties, she faced them with grace and never complained. She was a women of faith. Dorothy greatly impacted my life for the better and I shall miss her dearly. My thoughts and prayers are with the Blair family during this difficult time. May you RIP Dorothy. Xoxo

Aunt Dorothy…..my mom's dearest friend for close to 8 decades. Five generations of family connections, love, & friendships.
My mom’s grandfather (Mas Will) & her great cousin (Brown Man). My mom’s “mother” Aunt (Aunt Merts) & her mother (Miss May). My mom & her. My mom’s kids & her kids, her granddaughter Lakeisha & my mom’s granddaughter Sam.
Aunt Dorothy always had a spark in her eyes & laughter in her heart. She welcomed me & my brothers into her home with love & patience-I’m not sure how she kept grinning with 4 kids of her own & the 3 of us. Her warmth & authenticity radiated where ever she went. She leaves her legacy with her 4 daughters -nothing in the world meant more to her than their happiness.
A child often does not remember what you taught them, but they remember how you made them feel. Aunt Dorothy always made me feel special & heard.
“Walk good” dear beautiful lady.

Dorothy was one of a kind. She was a very special friend since 2008. We spent a lot of time with her in Florida and she loved to shop. If I ever mentioned about not having a certain food for a while she would be right in the kitchen preparing it. I remember she was making rice pudding once and we got half way to the beach 3 times and had to keep going back to the house to adjust something. By the way it didn’t turn out. She was an amazing friend who will be sadly missed. We love you Dorothy.

I first met Dorothy in 2008 at our bereavement group when she lost her beloved Doug. We all thought she was a quiet sweet lady only once we got to know her we found out that she was a very sweet lady but would definitely speak her mind. I will truly miss her. RIP our dear Dorothy.
