Cliff McGill opened Robert Service in 1971. It was a highly successful senior public school owing much of its success to the staff that Cliff put together and his direction.
Cliff’s sense of humour showed itself when he’d regale us with stories about his buddies, The Sailer, Alex Waters, Al Mason and especially Bill Ritchie. What shone through for the staff was Cliff’s strong support and loyalty.
He was quite a character. Thanks Clifford! R.I.P.

Sincere sympathy to Nancy and family. I spent a happy ten years at Danforth Gardens and Robert Service with Cliff as my principal. He loved to reflect on education and would do so in an interesting way at considerable length. He was definitely my mentor. My family also have great memories of times at the family cottage in Halliburton.

Dear Nancy and family, I have memories of visiting you as a child. Dad (Murray) grew up with Cliff and considered him his best friend and was his best man too. Loved Cliff's sense of humor and ability to tell a fascinating story of earlier times. Cliff will be so missed. Love to all of you. Mary Ellen McGill
