It was a Moving Service to Honour a Great Man who lived a Great Christian Life.
My father George was a Good Friend with Max after their meeting at Grace Church.
One of their favourite events there was Cooking Pancakes on Shrove Tuesday.
With Sympathy to Joyce & Their Family.
We know that Max is in a Very Good Place & is no longer in pain.

On behalf of the Rossi family we send our condolences and love to the Hayward family. Carol became part of the Rossi family many years ago, which lead to our life-long family friendships. Mr. Hayward leaves behind a beautiful family and this great man will truly be missed by all. His family and friends will hold his memories in their hearts and find comfort knowing he is in God's loving care. Rest in the peace of heaven Mr. Hayward. With love, Deb ODonnell/Rossi.

Carol first introduced me to her parents at their former home in Peterborough 40 years ago. Over the years, Joyce, Max and the Hayward family have become "kindred spirits". It always felt just like home to be with them. We cherish loving memories of Max with his warmth, generous hospitality, abundant humour and interesting discussions. He always kept us laughing. We will never forget him and shall miss his company.
A few years ago I visited Max at Markham Stouffville Hospital. His Nurse came by and enquired if I was family. I replied " No, I am his girlfriend". He shrieked with laughter. On the way out as I passed the Nursing Station, I said "Take good care of him" . The Nurse replied "That's easy. We all just love him and he is our favourite patient".
We extend heartfelt condolences to Joyce and the entire Hayward family (including Otis). May he Rest in Peace. Lois and Leon

We were brought together as family when Jaana and Paul met and married. We were welcomed with such warmth by both Max and Joyce, and enjoyed our times spent together. Max had a wonderful smile that reached from ear-to-ear, such an infectious laugh and a typical Newfoundlander sense of humour. We are grateful to have met and known Max, even for a short time, and will miss him. To dear Joyce, Carol, Cathy, Paul and Jaana, Janine and baby Maxwell, our love, thoughts and prayers are with each of you. May God give you many moments of tears, laughter, sweet memories and above all, His Hand of peace and comfort.

Our friendship with Carol goes back many years. We loved all of her family and Max will be remembered for playing the guitar and his beautiful wood carvings. Our hearts hurt for Joyce who lost her husband yesterday. Many hugs coming to Joyce and the rest of the family xoxoxo
