I’m so sorry I am coming to this at this late date. I only found out a few days ago and I needed to process this news. I’m crushed. My condolences to Brads family and friends. Brad was a friend and colleague on and off for 23 years. I loved him. I will miss him. He made me laugh and Brad made me better at my vocation. I have met most of his family and enjoyed them as Brad did. I have spent the last few days remembering the “Brad” moments. Please dear God or whoever you are be kind to my friend Brad. He will make you smile, laugh and reflect. RIP Brad. I will miss you!

We are very sorry to hear of Brad's passing. Our sincere condolences to Kathy, Cody, Judy, Marion, and all of extended family and friends. Brad was one of a kind. We have many fond memories of our times with Brad. When we think back to the good times in the 70's/80's, when Brad was still living in North Van., he is often a big part of them. Brad was always up for a good time and we were fortunate enough to have been part of them.

To one of my all-time best friends of 40 years and to his wife Kathy who I have known also for over 40 years..
I waited until now to write my thoughts because I had the opportunity to go to the funeral and say it in person.
My heart goes out to Brad's mother Marion and sister Judy who were not able to attend due to the coronavirus.
I will miss you my old friend, and it would have been nice if a couple of your old friends that I knew personally when living in Vancouver had been able to attend the funeral; that would be you Geoff Watson and Brad Phillips amongst others. Again, the virus stopped people flying across the country.
R.I.P. Bradford...

WOW, This was a Shock when I got a call from Patti telling me Brad had passed away. Brad, Brad Phillips and I were always together growing up in North Van. Yup, we got into a lot of trouble. I was Brad's protector. We used to sleep out in the Boat Russ was building in the driveway. Then when I got serious with hockey we drifted apart, but I would always be looking out for him at parties or in school. He had a way of talking me into things I knew I shouldn't be doing, but we had fun doing them at the time!
From reading some of the notes I can see that Brad did not change much. Still a great guy to be around.
RIP Brad!

DAWG’S REQUIEM
To those who know me, I’m rarely at a loss for words or an unsolicited opinion. Although now I find with the passing of our friend (and fellow CAFA –Canadian Armchair Football Association- member) Brad or Wellsy or Dawg as he’s known to us in our league, that I’ve been rendered speechless with grief. Nevertheless, I shall persevere to bid our friend a final adieu as he rages against the dark to go into that good light.
Nostalgia can be a cruel mistress and never so much so when memories of an old friend are exposed to the light. This will be obvious to all who knew him. The bittersweet quality of those memories that make us smile and weep at the same time are a curse and a blessing that we will endure for our friend whom would wish us the blessing only, as was his way.
It is especially difficult to ponder a future without a childhood friend when your own memories and shared experiences are so intertwined. The old stories of adventure, debauchery and grace take on a haunted quality when the past tense must be used. Always remembered with a smile and a chuckle but tinged with a permanent sadness that no new memories are forthcoming.
We will prevail together through our collective grief as members of a club who were privileged enough to have been touched by Brad’s grace and humour.
To the Wells and Griffin families, I cannot imagine your pain and sorrow and I weep for and with you in your grief.
Godspeed my friend. You will be missed.
P.S. Dawg was to be my Week one opponent in our fantasy football pool and I think he’ll be fine if I take the win by default. Rules are rules Dawg!
