On behalf of the Trask Family, our sincerest condolences to the family and friends. We were neighbors for years on Channing Place in St. John's NL. I enjoyed visiting for cookies when I was a very young child and loved her garden. As did the rest of my 5 siblings. Rest now sweet lady.

Barbara, We are saddened to learn of the passing of your Mother and send you and your family our deepest sympathy. Just today I was doing some family tree work and came across the information your father shared with me over twenty years ago when we lived in Markham. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dear Barb,
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Velma was one of the bright lights at Markham Stouffville Hospital - always cheery greeting, a brilliant smile and beautifully dressed! We often chatted in the hallway - I remember her talking about how proud she was of you and your successes. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.
Hugs!

Dear Barb, it is said that it is the spirit of a person that touches us, staying with us forever. No truer words could apply to Velma. A chat with her was always an uplifting experience. We shared many of those at the hospital. Indeed, seeing her smiling face at the Information Desk at MSH was a positive experience for everyone, whether they were staff just passing by or visitors needing comfort at a stressful time. I consider myself blessed to have known your mother. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Dear Donna and Barbara,
Please accept our sincere condolences on the passing of your Mom. I remember her on Channing Place where she welcomed your friends into her home. I'm sure as noisy teenagers, we were probably a bother, but she always had a warm and welcoming smile. Donna, both Jerry and I were so pleased when you, your Mom and the boys visited us when traveling through central NL. Jerry still mentions how chatty and engaging she was; a wonderful lady indeed. Take care....Jerry and Linda Brett.

Sincere condolences to you and your family Barb. Your mother was a wonderful volunteer, always so bright and cheery. She was the perfect person to greet visitors and patients to the hospital as she was a true example of the hospital's desire to 'Make it Great' for all who entered.
I also remember your mother as friendly and warm whenever I would bump into her when I visited my parents at Swan Lake. They also thought highly of your mom and her commitment to the hospital.
Take care at this difficult time. You are in my prayers.
Sincerely,
Sharon Dinsmore former RN @ MSH

I have very fond memories of Velma while I worked at Markham Stouffville Hospital. Her smiling face could be found in so many departments and it was always a joy to meet up with her and share a laugh. She was the perfect front desk contact and was such an energetic cheerleader for the hospital community. Velma will be in my heart forever. She was one of a kind. May she rest in peace. Thinking of her loved ones at this difficult time.

Dear Barbara and Donna, Please accept my heartfelt sympathy for the loss of your mom and "my Velma". Your mom was a key member of the MSH Information desk for 15 years +. She was always informed, caring, and supportive of patients, their families, and staff. We had great times together and I always looked forward to seeing her wear her fabulous jewelry. She was a class act. My thoughts are with you during this sad time and may all your fond memories bring a smile to your face. RIP Velma.
Hugs, Magda Rigo,
Retired, MSH.
