I'm so saddened to hear of the loss of your Mom, she was such a wonderful person. I have many childhood memories of us kids hanging out together on Albert Street whether it was playing kick the can until dark, listening to Marc and John put on a concert by the garage in your backyard or Suzanne and I playing on your big front porch. Your Mom put up with us kids hanging out and was so welcoming. She always had a smile on her face. The friendship that our Mom's shared over the years was genuine, I know Mom truly valued Vera's company whether it was through the Clothing Centre, the Vet's Hall or Church. Those two could talk to each other forever on the phone. Partners-in-crime together again. My heartfelt condolences.

Vera was loved and returned that love to all easily and with great compassion.
From her days in Guyana with Granny Dorothy and the 'boys' to her life in Canada and her own family with Compton, the stories and memories will last forever.
She was funny, thoughtful, gracious, loyal and most of all a treasure to her family and friends.
Vera never sought the limelight but was always there with a steady hand guiding and supporting us all.
Loved and adored always,
The Austin contingent of the family in Winnipeg.
