Dorothy and Family ... Please accept our deepest sympathy.
It was an honour and a pleasure to know George. He joined us at our coffee group at Markville Mall and previously at Mac Donalds. We had George's company for many years when he was available. He always had an interesting story to share. Sometimes ... what was happening in Markham, his vacations (caught in a flood), more recently about his new mobility. Didn't see him very often in the last years and missed him.
God bless you Dorothy and your family.

Dorothy and family, please accept my family's deepest sympathy at this very sad time. My path first crossed with George when he became a ward Councillor with the Town/City of Markham. I would often see George at many City meetings and functions. After George retired my wife and I moved back to Markham just around the corner and George was one of the first neighbors to welcome us. Through our time in Markham and after we moved away again George remained in touch with me while I continued to work at Markham. At all times he was always a gentleman, polite, shared his good sense of humour and respectful of staff. He was one of the nicest people I have ever had the pleasure to work with. I will miss him deeply.

I send sincere sympathy to the entire family. George was my principal at Sixteenth Avenue when we were this little school in the middle of a field. I learned so much from him and his manner of dealing with everyone with respect and humour. There are stories of things that happened in the school, that have stayed with me over the years and been shared with others.

Sending our sincere condolences to the family. Mr. McKelvey was a wonderful, kind, gentle, man with a big heart and allot of love for his community and a kind smile for everyone he met along his path.
I was lucky enough to have had Mr. McKelvey as a Principal at James Robinson Public School, and lucky enough to be involved with him at the City, involving business dealings in later years.
Heaven has received a beautiful angel, Town (City) of Markham has lost a great man who leaves behind a legacy and many memories for everyone. Rest in Peace,
Sincerely,
Cardinal Family (Kemp)

Sending my sincerest condolences to Dorothy and her family. George truly impacted our lives, as he was my Dad's best friend. They could talk for hours, and I always loved seeing him when he would stop by for a coffee. Always happy, always telling jokes, truly an amazing man! He provided guidance, leadership and true friendship to both my parents. He will be greatly missed by our family. Rest in Peace Georgie.

My heartfelt condolences to the McKelvey's on the loss of their Dad and husband. George (aka) Georgie was a best friend to my Dad for 55 years. I had the pleasure of knowing George for a very long time. I will always remember George for his big bushy eyebrows, laid back demeanor and funny sense of humor. I can remember times as a child going with the McKelvey's to Myrtle Beach for March Break vacation and having fun with his three daughters. I will always remember George calling the house and asking "So what's new and exciting?" I loved you George. Thank you for always being a loyal true blue friend to our family. May you rest in paradise

It is with my sincere condolences that I sent this message to the McKelvey family. We started out as neighbours in Markham and then Mr. McKelvey was my Principal at James Robinson Public School. I know that my dad, Don Cousens, had the greatest appreciation for Mr. McKelvey and together I know they really enjoyed working to make the town of Markham a better place for all of the residents. Mr. McKelvey has a great legacy leaving behind and so I know that this will bring comfort to the McKelvey family although it is a sincerely difficult time to lose such a great man.
