My deepest condolences to Jacqui, Ron and CJ on the passing of Bruce. Many of my fondest memories are of spending time with Bruce and Marg at Hyland’s. He was a legend of a man, and was always a positive motivator to any skater he came in contact with. The skating world will miss him, but he will always be remembered with great respect and fondness. I knew Bruce in the mid-late 80s when he owned centre ice . My sister skated there and I'd often help with cleaning and sorting the rental skates and I'd run one of the spotlights during competitions all at the age of 11or 12 . A great man who will be missed . I'll certainly never forget those days and look back on them fondly
Condolences to Margaret and all his family x

Kevin and I extend our deepest condolences to you Marg, Jacqui and the whole family. It was with profound sadness that we learned of Bruce's passing.
You both were wonderful coaches to us over many years of competitions both Nationally and Internationally. It was due to your expertise and commitment to us that enabled us to enjoy success on the competitive circuit.
My years of working with Bruce and Marg go back to the Metropolitan Skating School in Weston, followed by the years at Tam O'Shanter, The Upper Canada Skating Club and the Unionville Skating Club. When Kevin and I began skating together he joined us at Tam O'Shanter, Upper Canada and Unionville.
Marg, may you take comfort in knowing how many lives you and Bruce touched in such a positive way. We all have fond and vivid memories of our years training with you and Bruce.
Kevin and I hope to see you all on June 15th.
God Bless!
Carole & Kevin

It was with a sense of sadness that I read of Bruce's passing in the Toronto Star.
I do have vivid fond memories of him especially at "Tam O'Shanter". Although he was not my coach, he did partner me for my Gold Dance Tests and I could always count on his praise or criticism to be honest. Don't know what I would have done without him! Such a nice man. He was kind enough to give me a summer job in 1970 working at his Hockey School right after my marriage.
I am happy to know that he lived to be 92. He certainly deserved such a long, happy life. My condolences to Margaret and his children. I hope to be able to see you all on June 15th.

Back in the mid 70s we played a lot of hockey at Hyland's Arena.
Mr Hyland always had some time to chat with us in the Boot and Blade bar upstairs.
He was a class guy and a gentleman.
My condolences to his family.

I’m very sorry to hear this news. Bruce made magic happen! He was an amazing coach and showman and Marg brought the glamour! The carnivals they produced in the 60s and 70s were the stuff childhood dreams are made off. My deepest sympathies to Marg and Jacqui Pugh. xo

I remember fondly when Bruce lived at the Bayview Golf Club and I lived on Connacher Drive and our sons attended Bayview Glen School. A lot of water has gone under the bridge since then and I very much appreciated renewing our friendship when we both ended up living at the Ballantrae Golf and Country Club.
Bruce was always a leader and everyone will miss his upbeat attitude and positive outlook on life.
Shirley and I extend our deepest condolences to all of the family.
