Sorry for the loss of Robert to all family members. My husband did not have IPF, he had NSIP fibrosis caused by Scleroderma. Before his diagnosis, I reached out to Robert and he was a great support leading us to great advice re: lung transplants and the process for getting started. My husband received a life-saving double lung transplant March 31, 2015. Never met Robert in person; however, deeply saddened by his loss. A very good man who cared about people and the world and making a difference. xo Christine

The loss of a Dear friend and Gentleman. Robert was an inspiration to so many, giving help, hope, advice and time. Through his many years of hospital stays, operations and struggles to breath he never complained but drove on relentlessly to assist in finding a cure.

My condolences to Roberts family, friends and everyone he touched in the PF community. I did not get a chance to meet him but felt his support through the Foundation. I was diagnosed in 2013 and gratefully received a transplant in Dec 2018 so our journeys were similar. His efforts to raise awareness and support patients will be forever appreciated.

To Heather and the Davidson family.
I am deeply sorry for your loss. I had the extreme pleasure of knowing and working with Robert and the CPFF for over a decade. It was an honour to partner with Robert and the IPF community, and it's people like him that have touched so many lives while helping advance IPF awareness, patient care and scientific understanding.
Sincerely,
Phil Watkins

What an appropriate photo of Robert. I used to tell him that he was so busy taking care of others with PF that he didn't look after himself. But he did love to exercise his elbow. Enjoying a pint, or two, was one of the joys of his life.
Heather, his children, and grandchildren were his greatest joy! Visiting him in the hospital so many times over the last two years, it was waiting for the birth of his granddaughter or seeing his granddaughter, or his son & family visiting from Germany that kept him going.
And every one of those days in the hospital Heather was by his side. Robert and Heather's devotion to each other and their family and to their PF family was an example to all.

On behalf of Team Transplant Dragon Boat Team, which Robert enjoyed being a part of for a few years, our deepest condolences to Heather and the family. He was a wonderful, caring person with a huge heart who will be greatly missed by many.
When I think of Robert I can't help but think of Melissa MacPhail from PEI, a fellow Team Transplant paddler and IPF friend of Robert's. CHEERS! to the two of them together always watching over their families.
Donna Fleming.

My deepest sympathies for your loss. What an amazingly generous person Robert was to my family. He answered the phone and changed my family’s lives forever. When my Aunt Janet Burke was diagnosed with IPF I didn’t know how to help but Robert answered my call and showered me with his knowledge. His advice saved her life and she is with us today with her new lungs. My best friend, a mother and a grandmother is here because of Robert. God bless your family and know our thoughts are with you forever!

The Clarke Family in Alberta would like to send our heartfelt sympathy. We met Robert through CPFF. Your family should be so proud he started this foundation so families like ours had somewhere to go to look for help. I was fortunate to meet Robert once in Edmonton. Please know our family is thinking of your family today.
