Ronald Kenny posted a condolence
Marian and I met in Hamilton in 1957. She was 23 years old and beautiful. We were members of a church young peoples group participating in many activities as tobogganing, movies, parties and dancing. She returned to the UK in 1958 and I was very sad when we said good bye at the train station. We continued to correspond and I was surprised when she returned to Canada in March 1961. Marian was located in Ottawa and we were delighted to meet again. She was a delightful friend and companion and we soon became engaged. Marian relocated to Hamilton and we married in July 1962. I will always remember the wonderful warm and loving welcome into her family when we married. Marian loved her large family and sustained strong bonds throughout her life.

Ron and Johnathan, please accept our sincere and heartfelt condolences on Marian’s passing. She was a remarkable woman who influenced so many lives positively. Her concern for others and her engagement to better the lives of those she came in contact with is something that we will fondly remember. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.

Dearest Ron;
It is hard to conceive that Marian could no longer be with us. That her kind doing will no more gift our presence. That the wit with which she speaks her true mind will only dwell..in our thoughts.
It makes us painfully empty to even imagine your lonely moments and heartfelt feelings towards her, and we only wish our arms could hold you in these sad moments.
At this time we pray and wish you strength and patience. Our thoughts go also to Jonathan, hoping that together, you will both find the way through these painful days.
Tina and I will cherish her in the depth of our hearts forever. With all our love, Stefan & Tina

What lovely pictures of Marian was a lovely sister, and throughout her life she came and visited us here in the UK. She was always willing to go out of her way to help people. She was much loved and will be sorely missed. Just a few days before she died we were planning her trip to hear the Coral Festival in Gloucester where she would have enjoyed great music in the Cathedral. Sadly she'll miss it.

Marian and I met in 1960 as young physiotherapists at Hammersmith Hospital in London and our friendship continued after we both returned to Canada. We've shared many trips to the Shaw Festival, a visit to Frank Lloyd Wright's houses in Pennsylvania, family week-ends in Markham and Christmases together on Markham Street...the things friends do together.
I was lucky to have a lovely lunch with Marian at the Gardiner Museum two weeks ago today when we saw the Ai WeiWei show - I didn't know it would be our last.
She has been a precious friend for most of my life and I'll miss her immensely.
My thoughts are with Ron and Jonathan, Carolyn, Bill and Charles.
