Gopi Kumar Obituary
V.P. Gopi Kumar (1933-2019), passed away peacefully at 15 Taplane Drive, Markham, Ontario on 30th January, 2019. He will be greatly missed by his wife Chandrika Kumar, daughter Priyadarshini Kumar, son Gokul-Raj Kumar, son in-law Jaideep Vaid, daughter in-law Heera Nambiar, and granddaughter Sabrina Kumar Vaid.
He belonged to a renowned family in Vadakara, Kerala, India. Son of Advocate K.N. Kodoth and Karthiyayini Amma, he started his profession as a lawyer. Shortly thereafter, he joined the Indian Foreign Service under the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India and later settled in Toronto, Canada. He then transitioned to a career as a business executive in Accounting, and finally retired as a respected Accounting and Business Studies teacher in the East York Board of Education.
A most loving person, he was an ardent devotee of Sri Sathya Sai Baba and he loved his community as a whole.
Visitation services will be arranged at the Dixon-Garland Funeral Home, located at 166 Main Street North, Markham, Ontario, L3P 1Y3 on Saturday, February 2nd, 2019 between 2 and 5 p.m.
The cremation will be held at the Ajax Crematorium and Visitation Centre on Sunday, February 3rd , 2019 at 3:30 p.m. as a private function.
Sri Divakaran Namboodiri has kindly consented to moderate the deities as per Hindu mythology.
