Robert John Smith

Passed on at peace during the day of January 2nd of this year. Known as dad, brother, friend to many and uncle smitty to all. Survived by Bernice, his loving partner and friend along with her children and grandchildren who loved him very much. Predeceased by wife Eileen and missed by children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He grew up in east york and moved to Markham after being expropriated by the pickering airport. Started a small electrical component manufacturing company with his partner, Big Ed, in Markham. He loved people and treated everyone like family. A quick wit and a great sense of humor brightened the day of many. A Visitation will be held at Dixon-Garland Funeral Home, 166 Main St. N. (Markham Rd.), Markham on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 from 5-8pm.
