My Beautiful Sister
You were a Role Model to all of us. You went out into a new world on your own and all of us followed in your footsteps. Although we lived our lives in countries far apart, the memories I have of you is so dear to my heart. You were kind, beautiful, loving and have a endaring smile that will always be embedded in my soul. I will always cherish the moments I shared with you on my visits . Last year at Papa's funeral you looked the picture of health. I saw a video of you dancing up a storm which I enjoyed immensely. Rest in Peace Sister Love you always.

Aunt Cherry had such a gentle and beautiful spirit about her. Every time I saw her at our family events she was smiling and had lots of words of wisdom to share. She was always encouraging, very positive and exhibited great character some of which were determination and resilience. She never gave up no matter what. I hold dearly to those traits and the indelible impression she left on my heart. On behalf of the Roye and Henry family our deepest condolences and prayers to all throughout this time. We love you always. Rest in sweet peace Aunt Cherry. God bless you.

My Big sister by Ansurd Spence!
Before she became a wife and a mother she was my big sister.
I was ten years old when she left Jamaica for England!
My earliest memories of her was watching her ironing the clothes and reading at the same time.
She was an avid reader and a brilliant student.
Her best friend was a beautiful girl named Dotlyn Hayden who lived about twenty minutes away and i would transport books between them.
I didn't mind because I had a crush on her even though she had a boyfriend!Lol
I had a lot of respect for my dear sister Cherie!
I called her Cloytie back then and for some reason I don't think she was crazy about her name.
She was a disciplinarian to her younger siblings and my relationship with her could be described as a little frosty as far as I remember but we had mutual respect for one another all through the years.
The day she left Jamaica she showed me who was boss when I misbehaved and she gave me a tight slap. Lol.
I never saw her again until she visited a few years later with her son Christopher.
I remember accompanying her to the City of Savannah la mar to buy supplies and having a really good time.
By then she had left England and was a resident of Canada.
A few years later I migrated to Canada and she sponsored me.
I will always be grateful to her because she had to make a lot of sacrifices to accommodate me.
She was living in a one bedroom apartment at the time and there was so many people depending on her.
She had just met a new boyfriend who would later become her husband.
Then there was me Anne and Chris and Coris all living happily in the same apartment. Lol
We would eventually move to a two bedroom apartment and later go our separate ways.
So now all the memories are coming back.
The last time I called her Cloytie she laughed out loud and said no one has called me that in yrs, the name is Cherie!

Cherry had a very strong spirit of discernment, most often expressed in a nonchalant fleeting manner..

I have sone very fond memories of my sister Cherry. We shared alot in common , I probably followed her footsteps because we are both avid readers and we loved the same Authors, thats our main topic whether on the phone or in person. Later on over the years I ended up working at the same Hospital CAMH where she worked many years. I even met some of her co-workers so she would talk about the past and I would talk about the present. Every opportunity I got I visited her and most times we talked. I miss you my sister.

I remembered my sister as a litte boy before she left for England. About 16 or 17 years old. I saw her again when i came to Canada in 1972. I spent time with her to babysit Mark. As a little girl she did have a strong bond with my mother. She didn't do much around the house. She likes to sit in a chair facing a mirror where she could see her face and hairstyles in the mirror while reading a book. Mama once said she looks like our grandmother Jane Robinson. She was treated very special while the younger sisters do all the housework. When i started school i used to hide from class under her desk. She was bonded with my deceased brother Shirley. He fisted up some boy bothering her at school. Whenever we have functions at my house she would talked about the days when we were growing up. Unforgettable Memories of her.

Aunt Cherry was so sweet. Everytime I saw her at a family function, she always greeted me with a warm hug and kiss and asked how I was doing in school. She always encouraged me to do French but that did not pan out very well... lol. I still took her advice and pass on the interest in French to my son. Aunty Cherry you will be missed by us all but I know you are happy to be reunited with Grandma , Grandpa, and brothers. R.I.P. Pretty Lady!

Your mother accepted me with open arms in a time when I really needed help, love and support and I will never ever forget that. She was truly a wonderful woman and I respected her deeply. She is in a place where she can continue to bring good cheer with her smile and spread continued love and happiness. I wish her peace.

My Mom was a gentle, kind loving person who would do anything for family. Especially her children and grandchildren for whom she had the greatest love. She will greatly missed. I love you forever.
