Obituary of Myra Pett

PETT Myra –

Lost her courageous battle with cancer surrounded by her family on Friday October 26, 2018 in her 81^st year. Predeceased by husband John. Loving mother of David and Andrew (Joan). Proud Bubbie of Jessica and Christopher. Will be missed by sister Frances, niece Stephanie (Jimmy) and nephew Gary (Christie). Great-aunt to Sydney, Kelsey, Dylan, Noah and Jacob. Myra and her family moved to Canada in 1964 from London, England. She was a paralegal for real estate for 40 years and only just retired 5 years ago at the age of 75. Myra was an advocate for mental health awareness and founded the Markham Chapter of The Ontario Friends of Schizophrenia. As an active volunteer Myra volunteered at Markham Stouffville Hospital and enjoyed greeting people at the information desk. She loved animals and volunteered at Petsmart with their cat adoption program. Myra enjoyed doing aquafit where she met many of her friends. Family and friends will be received at the DIXON-GARLAND FUNERAL HOME, 166 Main Street North (Markham Rd), Markham, on Friday November 2 from 11am until time of Memorial Service in the chapel at 1pm. Special thanks to all the doctors, nurses  and volunteers who helped through her battle. In lieu of flowers donations made to the Markham Stouffville Chemo Clinic or the Margaret Bahen Hospice would be appreciated by the family.
