TERWOERDS, Johanna “Mimi”

November 14, 1920 – September 21, 2018

Passed away after a short illness at the age of 97. Predeceased by her loving husband Bernard “Bert” and daughter Bernardine “Ineke” (the late Norman). Caring mother of Johanna (Tony), beloved Oma of David (Lauren), Paul (Linda), Jonathan (Fausta), Peter (Karri-Lynne), and Michael, and great -grandmother/Oma Mimi of Nathan, Megan, Nicholas, Matthew, Nadia, Isabella, and Katerina. Survived by her brother Ben and sister Toos of Holland. Will be remembered fondly by her many nieces, nephews  and friends.

Born in Eibergen, Holland, Mimi immigrated to Stouffville with her husband and young daughters in 1958. She served the community for many years behind the counter of the Stouffville Post Office. Mimi and Bert spent their retirement years in their condo in Markham.

A visitation will be held at Dixon-Garland Funeral Home, 166 Main St. N., Markham on Thursday, September 27, 2018 from 7-9 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Parish, 5633 Highway 7, Markham on Friday, September 28, 2018 at 10 am. Reception to follow at the church. Mimi will be buried beside her husband and close to her daughter at a private family service in Stouffville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
