Obituary of George Hardie Corcoran

George Hardie Corcoran

God made George an offer he couldn’t refuse on April 13, 2018. George Hardie Corcoran left this world after battling liver cancer. He leaves behind his loving wife Louise Tokar Corcoran, his brother Frank Corcoran, his sister Laura Piddock (Don), his sister Fran Metkovich (Dave), Siblings: Tammy MacAuley, Kelly Conforzi, Corey O’Hagan, Holly Wheeler, Ryan O’Hagan, Shelley Oliver, Cheryl Stubbing, his Aunt Betty Elizabeth Campbell and countless nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. George was predeceased by his caring grandparents, Frank and Martha Campbell who he lived with all of his growing years. Also, his mother, Janet Corcoran and his father George Corcoran. George was born August 1st, 1952 in Greenock, Scotland, immigrated to Toronto in 1954, grew up in Massena, New York, and settled in Stouffville, Ontario, Canada. He was a free spirit with an intense love for music and a top-notch musician. George played multiple instruments but with his love for rock and jazz he got to be a sizzling guitarist and played in several bands in Massena, NY in "The Jr. Group" and Canada in "The Hots" and "LyveWyre" and he was even a "Sunshine Boy" in the Toronto Sun Newspaper. Although he was happiest in his music, he loved to go with Louise to their favorite fishing and camping grounds as much as possible. Being an animal lover, I think he would have surrounded himself with animals if it was at all possible. Those of you who know George well will appreciate this final quote from a dear friend: “Joe Hollywood has left the building.”

Private Cremation has taken place.
