Alice was an extra-ordinary human being. My first memory of Alice was in the mid-late 1990s when I attended a presentation on telephone banking support for CIBC mutual funds. Instead of describing how phone support would work in the future, Alice role-played both the client calling in as well as the call centre agent. She started the role play by saying, "Bring, bring, bring," in a high voice, as a way of imitating the phone ringing. It was so brilliant - such an ingenious way to get the concept across - that the moment has stuck with me for over 20 years.
Alice was a consummate professional - always confident but flexible, a superb listener and so balanced, smart and calm. She was a very special woman who will never be forgotten by those who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Dear Paul & Raphael;
My deepest condolences to you both on the loss of such a remarkable wife and mother, Alice. She was, and continues to be a great inspiration to us all; and she will be greatly missed. The scourge of cancer has become something very close to my heart because i have seen so many good people leave us far "before their time" because of it. But there were so many prayers being offered up for Alice, I have to believe that, for whatever reason, God truly wanted her with him at this time.
But, as I said, Alice was truly an inspiration to us because even though she wasn't healed of this terrible disease, she beat it in all the ways that truly matter. So much so, this is what I wrote about her in my Palm Sunday homily:
For even if the cancer eventually claims her life, this woman has already beaten this disease — beaten it because it has not changed the wonderful person she is, and the wonderful person she will always be — beaten it because she has united her suffering to Christ, and by so doing she is with Him in His Passion—just as He is with her in hers — beaten it because the disease has not decreased her faith, hope, and love; but has only made them stronger — beaten it because despite everything she is going through, she is not alone, and never will be. Amen.
Paul you have been right alongside Alice the entire time, fighting the cancer right along with her -- and you too are a great inspiration to us all. I will be keeping both you and Raphael in my prayers during the difficult time ahead. May Alice rest in peace and may God send you both His peace and His loving consolation now and always.

Paul and Raphael and family, my heartfelt condolences go out to you during this difficult time. Alice was a truly amazing person and no matter what challenge she was facing, she never let a day go by that she didn't share her positive attitude and her faith with us. I know both Judy Crawford and I always looked forward to receiving her poems and our telephone calls with her. She will forever be in my heart and prayers.

Dearest Alice, your life as daughter, wife and mother had completed. Your legacy lives on in Raphael and me.
You have fought a good fight.
You have finished the race.
You have kept the faith.
May the Lord welcome you into His "peaceful waters", and grant you eternal life.

Really sorry to hear the sad news. Even though I never had chance to work with Alice, we both used to be CIBC employees, above all we are both Christians.
Now Alice has gone to a better place, no more sufferings, no more tears. She can finally rest in peace.

Although I met Alice mostly at CIBC Meetings, it seems like everyone at CIBC knew her! She was knowledgeable and fair and enthusiastic and joyful and is already missed.
I know you will all miss her, but she lives on in each of you. You will see her in Raphael's smile, or the turn of Angela's head, a simple phrase will bring back a fond memory. She is changed not gone and she has left you all with beautiful memories to share until you meet again.
My condolences to Paul, Raphael and the entire family. May she rest in peace.

To Paul, Raphael, and Alice's parents and sister. I had the joy and privilege of working with Alice in our early career days at Royal Trust. I remember her being a wealth of knowledge, so efficient in her work (like an 'energizer bunny') and incredibly service focused with her customers. I always loved hearing her many delightful 'mom' stories about Raphael! We had the very good fortune of reconnecting again many years later and I am so grateful that we did. Remembering Alice for her unwavering courage and perseverance, and her wonderful sense of humour, to name just a few of her many beautiful qualities. Sending love and prayers to all of you and to Alice. With my deepest condolences, Ann
