Obituary of Dr. David Bruce Robson
Dr. David Bruce Robson
June 30, 1924 – February 11, 2018
Dave passed away peacefully at Markham Stouffville Hospital in his 94th year with family by his side.
He grew up in Toronto, attending Brown Public school, high school at University of Toronto Schools (UTS), obtained his Doctor of Medicine from University of Toronto and was a graduate of the Gallie School of General Surgery at the Toronto General Hospital.
He was a Sergeant Air Gunner in WWII and fortunately the war ended before he was deployed overseas.
He practised General Surgery at the Branson Hospital in Willowdale and the former York Central Hospital in Richmond Hill. After retiring from surgery, he was on staff at the St. John’s Convalescent Hospital in Willowdale until his retirement at age 71.
Dave met his wife (Katherine Susanne Robson) when he was in residence and she was nursing at Sunnybrook Hospital. They were married for almost 65 years before her passing last August.
They enjoyed their farm in Goodwood and spending time at cottage with family. He always enjoyed having a project on the go and spending time in his garden.
He will be missed by sons Paul (Simone) and Todd (Karen) and grandsons Reece, Bryce and Reed and extended family.
At his request, there will be an internment service for the immediate family in the spring at the family plot at St. John’s York Mills. A celebration of life for family and friends will be held on Sunday February 25th at his son Paul’s residence in Millbrook from 1 – 4pm. Call 705-932-7678 for details.
