Warren, I really really cannot believe you are not with us. Been colleague and friend for decades, always feel you are there. Only consolation is that you enjoyed and had so happy life supported by wonderful family and friends. Will miss that smile and shared happiness. Thanks my good friend for the memories. John

I have a lot of good memories from growing up on Sydenham St. in Woodstock. The very best of those memories involved Smitty.

My heart goes out to Penny and the rest of the family. I remember Warren mostly as a kid growing up in Woodstock. We usually crossed paths at the annual Smith family Christmases. He always had a smile on his face and time to talk the the shy kid 17 years his junior. Didn't see him much as an adult, but I still remember him fondly. Condolences to the entire family.

In 1983 just after I had started working for Pyrotenax in Trenton ON, I met Warren. He was our salesperson from Inco, for nickel tubing, which we used in our heating cables. This position was an entry level one for me, and my first in Supply Chain/Procurement, which then became my profession and one that I continue to practice today.
I was very green and not very knowledgeable. Warren was kind and patient with me and helped me to understand many of the details of the product. Every month he would come to Trenton from Toronto to make his client visit. We soon became friends, played squash together and began socializing together with our spouses. Many times, Carl and I would enjoy meals together with Warren and Penny. Soon the kids came and bigger houses and new adventures. Carl and I moved to France for his job, but yet we continued to see each other during the holidays. Our sons remember well playing hockey with Travis in their big basement in Markham. Then we moved to California and the Smith family spent several days visiting. One day they decided to attend Disneyland. However it did not go as well as planned, because Warren got a terrible rash and ended up in the infirmary in the park.
We have not seen Warren and Penny as often as we would like due to our distance apart, but we have always considered them to be close friends.
Warren was one of the nicest, sincerest, kindest and genuine people we have ever met. We shall miss him dearly. May he rest in peace. And may Penny, Travis and Andrea find peace in knowing their father was loved by all.
Very sincerely
Julie, Carl, Adrienne, Nick and Mike

Rest in peace Smitty, a man of integrity, laughter, family. Your smile was infectious and so genuine and pure. A wonderful person and a great teammate on the Sun Press League team. Smitty embodied life and he touched so many lives in a caring and compassionate way. Sincere condolences to his family, especially his wife and children who now carry on the legacy Smitty leaves behind.

Please accept our most deepest condolences. We never saw him without a smile on his face, even in the gym at the Sea Craze. We can still hear his laugh from when we having a pint or a meal, never a sad man, but a good man. May God have the door open and waiting for him, to show him the way to the nearest golf course.
RIP Mate.

My condolences to the entire family ... Warren and I spent 2 magical winters as team-mates on the hockey Navy Vets culminating in the Super C win in '70-'71 ... that was followed by 2 equally great summers as team-mates on the fastball Navy Vets and an IBI championship in "72 ... Warren always wore a smile on his face but was an intense and crucial competitor for both teams ... I can't recall much that happened during those 2+ years that doesn't include his friendship, intensity and leadership front and center

Our condolences to all. Rose and I would discuss Warren when meeting at the dentist's office. I remember him playing hockey as he grew up in Woodstock and later when he played with the Vets. Always keep your good times close in remembering him. Gene

Warren, my heart is broken and I am absolutely devastated. This candle seems so small compared to the incredible legacy you've left in the world and in our hearts. Travis, Andrea and I will do our best to honour that and live life the way only you knew how. So much love
