Obituary of Mary Rayfield

Rayfield, Mary Margaret (nee Milne) Passed away peacefully, on October 5th, at Bethany Lodge, Unionville, at the age of 92. Dearly loved mother of John Rayfield and his late wife Stella of Edmonton and Susan and her husband Pier Steffan of Markham. Loved grandmother of James and Kristyn Rayfield and Gregory (Nancy) and Ryan Steffan; great-grandmother of Thomas and Mae Steffan. She is predeceased by her brothers John (Ethel), Joseph (Jackie) and Arden Milne. She was born in Barrie to the late Dalton and Carrie Milne. After moving to Toronto, she began her working career in the lumber industry at Robert Bury. She then worked for Laidlaw Lumber/MacMillan Bloedel and ascended the ranks to product manager, despite being in an industry that was dominated by men. She retired at age 65, but continued in a reduced capacity until age 72. There will be a private family gathering at a future date with interment at Barrie Union Cemetery.
