Obituary of William Huntley

William Joseph Huntley (1927 - 2013) William Joseph (Bill) Huntley passed peacefully on Wednesday, December 4th with his beloved wife Helen and Fr. Russell Asch at his side. He is survived by his best friend and devoted wife of 63 years, Helen (nee McDonnell). Loving father to Warren (Colleen), Linda (Joseph Graham) and Beverley (Rick Tingey). Beloved grandfather to Patricia Graham, Megan Huntley, Michelle Graham Cisco (Aaron Cisco), William Tingey and Nicole Tingey. Brother-in-law to Lloyd (dec)(Pat), Doreen (dec), Stan (Vivian) and Earl (Anne). Cousin to Leone (Ken Wade) and Uncle to Maureen Bodley and Janice Moss (Allan). He was predeceased by his parents William & Margaret and his sisters Genevieve Wakefield and Eleanor Sullivan. He will be lovingly remembered by his dear friends Harry & Helen Blackwell, Roy & Mary (dec) Blackwell, Richard & Sylvia Smith, Ron Buist, and Eileen McConkey (dec) and her family. Special thanks to Pastor Mike Darrach of the Unionville Home Society. Bill enjoyed considerable success in his 37 years with Black's Photo Corporation as Executive Vice-President & Chief Financial Officer. He was instrumental in the company's rapid growth from a small regional presence to a large international chain. Among his proudest accomplishments was the introduction of an Employee Profit Sharing Program whose annual luncheon meeting was the highlight of each year for the numerous participants. A man of diverse interests and skills, Bill was as comfortable building an addition to the family cottage as he was in managing acquisitions and mergers. Bill was a long time member of the Scarboro Golf and Country Club and served as a Director for many years. The family will receive friends at the DIXON-GARLAND FUNERAL HOME - 166 Main Street North (Markham Road), Markham, ON - on Sunday, December 8th from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 9:00pm. The eulogy will be delivered by his son, Warren, at 8:00pm on Sunday, December 8th. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. PATRICK'S ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH - 5633 Highway #7, Markham, ON - on Monday, December 9th at 11:00am.
