Your father and you used to love to sing together, "Good night, Irene. We'll see you in our dreams". Now we're saying, Good night, Doreen. We'll see you in our dreams. I'm sorry I'm out of the country during your funeral but I'll continue to stay in touch with the family. As your daughter-in-law for 23 years and friend thereafter, we shared many laughs, like the time I mailed you a tea cosy from Europe only to come home months later to find you using it as a favourite purse. And we shared some tears and some scares, like the time you screamed bloody murder when you saw Paul's shoulder length hair after our 1973 Europe trip. If there was anything I did right it was to give birth to the first 2 girls in the family. You had always wanted a daughter and you were delighted to finally have some girls. You were proud of your sons but never forgot the loss of your third baby boy, John Michael. I agree with Cathy Stambaugh that you were always sweet and this was paid back in the kindness your sons have shown you and your wonderful and kind late husband, Paul Alfred. You'll be missed but we'll continue to share those fond memories of you. Rest in peace, Doreen. Love Marg (Offord)
