Obituary of John Kirkpatrick

Kirkpatrick, John William "Jack", C.M.A. March 15, 1931 to October 28, 2013 Passed away suddenly at his home in Markham, on Monday, October 28th, at the age of 82. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Joan and his four sisters: Connie (late Tom) White, Joan (late Kevan) Reeve, Diane (Chris) Malone and Carol Kirkpatrick (Dan Wolfe). He will be greatly missed by his four children and 10 grandchildren: Shelley (Michael) Madryga and grandchildren Carson, Laura and Blair; Sandra (Joe) Mucci and grandchildren Alex, Matthew and Vincent; Caroline Kirkpatrick (Brian Douglas) and grandchild Myles and John (Anne) Kirkpatrick and grandchildren Célise, Evan and Luc. He will also be sadly missed by his extended family and his many friends and colleagues. He graduated from Ryerson Polytechnical Institute (Electronics) in 1953 and was the founder of Tele Tech Sales Limited. He was a man that had many interests and pursued them with determination, perseverance, acute curiosity and ingenuity. He had a special interest in jazz and his garden, especially his tomatoes, garlic bulbs, hibiscus and geraniums. He was very mechanically inclined and always adapted unique approaches to either build and/or fix that which was broken. He was never one to turn down good company, good food, good wine and a delicious piece of fine dark chocolate with almonds. Visitation will be at the Dixon-Garland Funeral Home, 166 Main Street North, Markham from 11:00 am to 12 noon. Service will commence at 12 noon with a reception (tea service) to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, OPSCA, Toronto Humane Society or to a charity of your choice.
