Karen,
I am so sad that goodbye has had to come! I know your dad was struggling so much but goodbye is so hard and I am so sad for you, Glen, Susan Ann and your mom! I loved your dad. He was large in my childhood, though we didn't get up to Toronto that often, I loved seeing your family, coming to the farm was a huge highlight. I remember the hayloft, your dad letting me try my hand at milking a cow, squirting milk in the kittens mouths. He seemed to have infinite patience with my brothers and myself and was always working hard. I enjoyed his sense of humor and the way he and your mom interacted.
It was important to me to see he and your mom, whenever we were up that way and last time he was in the care facility and we missed your mom but got to see him anyway (the kids and I). He was unable to move himself like he wanted but was in every other way, himself and I am grateful that my children got to meet him.
I want very much to come up for the funeral. Not sure if that will be possible but will if I can at all.
Please pass along my sympathies (what an inadequate word) to your mom, Glen and Susan. Your mom sure has had blow on blow these weeks. I am praying for the comfort from God alone for you all right now.
