As a friend of Mar and her family, I was deeply saddened and shocked, as we all were, at the sudden loss of such a wonderful person. My heart, thoughts and prayers go out to Meghan, your “twin” and the O’Connor family. Mary Angela had a way of helping everyone she came in contact with, feel at ease from the moment you first met. So naturally warm, compassionate and generous, a great communicator, I wish we could all aspire to be more like that. Mary Angela, you touched the lives of many and we will all remember how much you cared. We miss you Mar and God bless you as a new journey begins. Paul, Rachel and Eric

MARYANGELA
They say you meet some people that come into your life and they leave an imprint that just makes you warm inside and smile. MaryAngela did that to my family and me.
MaryAngela and I attended St. Robert's, which was a school that amalgamated smaller towns in York Region. As a teenager from Thornhill, I otherwise didn't know about all these towns, I learned early on from MaryAngela about Markham and Stouffville, and large loving farming families such as the O'Connor's.
Looking back, we had some hilariously memorable times together. Class antics that could only be described as annoying to a teacher, but to us crying with laughter kind of memories! Vermont skiing and camping outings we had so much fun together.
Years later, with Mar and I growing up our lives separate and changing. I hear MaryAngela is expecting and am so exited for such a joyous time. I was invited to my first baby shower ever, and at the O'Connor farm I had heard so much about. Little did we know that baby shower and birth of Meghan we would cross paths again?
Fast forward 11years and my daughter Caitlyn comes home in grade 7 to let me know there is a new girl in her class; Meghan Lee Shew. Forever friends these two became, with homework, hanging out and sleepovers. Sleepovers in those days were common with Caitlyn and her friends, but this one a bit different. Caity insisted I meet Meghan's mom who was a single mother and very protective of her, or Meghan would not be able to stay. That evening, a car pulls up to my house, out bounds Meghan. Caitlyn greets her at the door and I step out to meet the "Mom" I cannot believe what I see that MaryAngela is "Meghan's Mom". Since both our girls didn't know we knew each other, MaryAngela promptly grabs Megs arm and says, "OH NO", I know this mom and you definitely can't stay here"!
Our girls didn't know how much catching up that MaryAngela and I had to do over a bottle of wine on my porch that night!
Meghan and Caitlyn have gone through a lot over the years themselves, remaining best of friends. Meghan moving out west for school and her homecoming back to Aurora last year. We were all excited to see Meg again. I would often bump into Mar off and on, in and around town all the time laughing how close we lived, but never seeing each other. Last time was priceless. Meghan and MaryAngela walking out of the corridor at ACC to attend a Fleetwood Mac Concert just as I was walking in. Big surprises to both of us, hugs all around and chuckling about how we have to get together soon and catch up!
Thank you for being my friend Mar, you were the best!
I wish to send to Mr. & Mrs. O'Connor, and the entire family our sincere condolences.
I know MaryAngela loved Meghan dearly and she will be forever remembered and missed.
