Obituary of John Corrigan
John Edward Corrigan
November 25, 1947 - May 10, 2013
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of John, beloved husband of 31 years to Marilyn and loving father to Ryan and Erin. John passed away peacefully on May 10, 2013 in the arms of his loved ones after a courageous and hard-fought battle.
Known for his witty sense of humour and love for the craic, he will be greatly missed by his immediate and extended family across both Canada and Ireland. He is survived by his sisters Maura, Brenda, Doreen, Gloria, Sharon and Natalie, and his brothers Kieran and Aiden.
Born in Newtownards, County Down, Northern Ireland, John grew up in a strong family household that deeply instilled in him the values of both hard work and determination. After moving to Canada, John worked as a carpenter with a knack for finding a way of making almost anything work. While living in Toronto, John met and married Marilyn in September 1981 and eventually settled in Markham where he would live and raise his family for over 25 years.
A true lover of history, John will be remembered by all for his lifelong passion for capturing the moments that his family cherishes the most and passing those memories on for generations to come. Despite the many hurdles that he faced along the way, John's ability to connect with family members both young and old will forever be remembered as the enviable trait that sets him apart from all others.
