Doreen and Family, Thinking of you today. This is such a great picture of Pete. We went to visit him on the weekend and have a few times before. We will always have our memories of him and your family. Phillip's is of the summertime and the lawn competition, mine is of the tomato garden. I asked for permission, got a NO and did it anyway. I knew he couldn't get mad at me. Maybe he did but I never knew. Doreen I will bring you some of mine this year planted with love and memories. Love Debbie & Phillip

Our grass will always be green because we learnt from Pete. He still has the best lawn in the neighbourhood. I am still trying to keep mine green. We see his smile and hear his infectious laughter. Debbie, Maggie and I have very fond memories of a great neighbour who will definitely be missed. Thank you for having an influence in our lives.
Debbie, Phillip and Maggie.

Family was the most important thing to my Dad. Although he worked long days he always made time to do things for us, like building us a skating rink in the backyard, or making us the best tree fort. He also built us an ice hut and Uncle Hugh would take Doug & I out fishing. He supported us in anything we wanted to do and made sure we had the best equipment to do it, like when I wanted to play hockey and try skiing. He went to all my games, driving whenever and wherever we had to go. One thing my Dad loved was food and we went out for dinner regularly. Back in the day he also loved his beer, reading the newspaper and watching the Montreal Canadiens. My Dad also loved to travel and we were fortunate to see most of the US & Canada on camping and road trips. I have now had the joy of doing these trips with my own family, sharing with them the same memories my Dad gave to me. One of my most special memories I have was when I was six yrs old. One of my classmates’ dogs had puppies so I asked my parents if we could get one. They, along with our neighbors, went and they each brought home one. Whiskers was with us for 17 wonderful years. My Dad was also a builder and when I bought a house of my own we spent many hours working together on my house – we built a deck, the front walkway, a closet & entrance into the garage and hung French doors. When I look at my own life I have in many ways followed my Dad’s example, being the kind of husband and father he was to his family. I am very proud to be his son. Thank you Dad for everything you gave to me, for every sacrifice you made for me and for all the beautiful memories you gave to me. I will miss you.

Joanne and Family, My heart goes out to you Jo, in the passing of your father. Having lost my Dad just 3 months ago, I know how tender our hearts become. He is at rest and at peace now. I hope your fond memories of him keep you strong and I (along with the other ladies of SAHL) will support you and be a needed shoulder. Take care 'bud'. With thoughts & tears, Your friend Sue

What I remember most about Pete was his passion - he never did anything half way. He was passionate about living life, the Montreal Canadiens and at one time beer, but more than anything Pete was passionate about his family. Nothing was more important and dear to him than his wife Doreen, his children Steve & Joanne (their spouses), and his four grandchildren. He was a determined man and never gave up - in life and in death. He will be greatly missed. Thank you for being a special part of our lives. Rest in peace.
