Obituary of Jack Wrycraft

John "Jack" Paul Wrycraft

March 11, 1941 - March 5, 2024

John Paul Wrycraft, known to all as Jack, a beloved husband, devoted father, cherished grandfather, and a source of warmth and kindness to all who knew him, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2024. Born on March 11, 1941, in Toronto, he was the son of the late Gertrude (McLaggan) and Benjamin Wrycraft.

Jack’s legacy of love was evident in his 57-year marriage to his wife, Jean and extended to his children, Noele Wrycraft (Brad Warren) and John (Sandra) Wrycraft. He was not just a father but a guiding light, imparting wisdom, kindness, and endless love to his family. He had much pride in his 3 grandchildren, Jack and Matthew Warren, and Luke Wrycraft, whose lives were brightened and enriched by his love.

Described as a kind and gentle soul, Jack’s optimism and infectious smile brightened every room he entered. His warm demeanor drew people to him, and he left a mark on the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Jack’s love for his family knew no bounds. He found joy in their company, especially in his favourite places, Siesta Key and Jack Lake.  His spirit will live on in the countless lives he touched, the hearts he uplifted, and the memories he created. Though he may no longer walk beside us, his presence will forever be felt in the love he shared and the lives he enriched.

In honoring Jack's memory, let us carry forward his legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering optimism, ensuring that his light continues to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew him. Rest in peace, Jack. You will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Markham Stouffville Hospital.
